PAINTINGS 2004-2014
Mixed paintings from 2004–2014, ranging from representational to abstract. In some works, I experimented with combining different materials such as mirrors, beads, and bubble wrap.
MEMORIES FROM WALES and PAINTINGS 2009-2010
The series Memories from Wales was inspired by the beautiful landscapes of Wales in 2008–2009. Additionally, my interest focused on the seascapes of Kruununhaka and the glow of lights in the dark night.
MIGRATORY BIRD 2007–2008
The Migratory Bird exhibition was part of my thesis for the Department of Art Education at the University of Art and Design Helsinki. The exhibition consists of representational and abstract oil and acrylic paintings. The starting point for my paintings was my brother Joona Svala's poem "Migratory Bird." In my works, I seek different perspectives on the visual interpretation of the poem.
